These days even the common person is talking the chipset language because of the smart phones getting cheaper day by day. Two years back, a person who had knowledge of RAM, ROM and chipset would be titled as a tech guru, but with smart phones becoming reasonable and popular, every other person is aware of the technical terms. People are now interested in knowing what they are getting in return for the value they are paying.
Nowadays people indulge in excessive research work before opting for any device such as a PC, laptop, tablet or mobile phone. Before purchasing a smart phone, you might look for certain things such as the RAM, processor, GPU and much more. The first and foremost element of a smart phone is the processor. Some of the commonly known processors are Exynos, Media Tek, and Qualcomm Snapdragon etc.

The processor named Media Tek is the latest chipset in the market. Media Tek has entered the market recently and is developed by a Taiwanese company with a quarterly profit of around a billion dollars. The Media Tek processor believes in the concept of profit from volume rather than the concept of bigger from smaller units. This processor includes low cost of manufacturing in comparison to Qualcomm Snapdragon. It is mainly used in low cost devices originating from China be it for use in native country or for other brands such as Micromax that uses Media Tek processor.
In comparison to this, the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor is based on innovative technology delivered before anyone else could get there. Qualcomm Snapdragon processor is expensive in comparison to Media Tek processor. Therefore, the smart phones making the use of Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset are costlier as compared to those making the use of Media Tek chipset. The revenue generated by Qualcomm Snapdragon is six times more in comparison to Media Tek. Qualcomm Snapdragon is the largest manufacturer of chipsets for smart phones.

The Media Tek processor is coming up with 64 bit LTE enabled hardware. However, Qualcomm is insufficient to provide such a configuration till now. Moreover, the smart phones having Qualcomm Snapdragon processor heat up very early and have high battery consumption while this is not the case with Media Tek Processor.
Talking about the Graphical processing unit of both the processors, the GPU of Media Tek PowerVR SGZ 544 gives better performance than that of Adreno 203 GPU of Qualcomm processor.
